為提升無線接取頻寬並填補WiFi區域網路與骨幹網路間之頻寬與服務品質落差,IEEE近年來提出以802.16技術做為解決方案,為加快802.16 產業發生及強化相關技術之研發能量以使我國取得產業發展與技術領先之機會,在本校已經建立起IEEE802.16試驗網路的環境,以便提供國內產學研究 802.16 測試與研發平台,因此在本篇論文中我們將整理出整個802.16網路量测後的效能。量測的內容可以分成802.16-2004網路之定點量測與移動量測、pre-16e網路之hand-over量測以及pre-16e網路之throughput量測,並且將測試802.16校園網路的應用服務,包括校園保全、多媒體互動式教學、VO WiMAX、多方視訊會議系統與IP TV。
To increase the bandwidth of wireless access and to fill in the quality of services (QoS) gap between the 802.11 local area access and the backbone, a new broadband wireless access network 802.16 was proposed by IEEE recently. To promote 802.16 industry output values and enhance the development energy of the related techniques in Taiwan, the project integrates experts over Central and Chi-Nan universities to build an 802.16 campus trial network. Performance measurements and evaluation for the 802.16 network will be performed through this project. All the measurements and data are in the thesis; include the fix measurements and mobile measurements of 802.16-2004 networks, and the throughput measurements and hand-over meas measurements of the pre-16e network.
