針對LTE-A網路,設計裝置間直接通訊之轉傳機制以提升傳輸效能

Throughput Improvement for Edge UEs by D2D Relaying in LTE-A

摘要


隨著無線通訊網路技術的發展以及智慧型行動裝置普及率日漸提高的情況下,使得資料的傳輸量變得相當地龐大,因此造成核心網路的負擔。3GPP所制定的新一代無線行動通訊Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A)提供了一種簡單、省時省力,且低成本的方式進行佈署網路基礎設施,因此在今日LTE-A已成為4G標準的主流。在LTE-A的環境架構之下,規範了行動用戶(User Equipment, UE)如何透過無線訊號與LTE-A核心網路(Evolved Packet Core, EPC)的基地台(Evolved NodeB, eNB)連線並進行無線通訊。 本論文探討在LTE-A網路環境下,與eNB間訊號品質不佳的UE利用Device-to-Device (D2D)通訊將資料傳至與eNB間訊號品質相對較好之UE,再藉由該UE將資料傳至eNB,以達到整體傳輸效率的提升,D2D透過地緣位置相近的兩台UE能夠作直接性的傳輸資料,以此來提高資料的傳輸效率。本論文提出一套D2D-Aided機制,判斷在LTE-A環境下,D2D-Aided適合的切換時機點以及適用範圍,在資源分配方面也提出適用於這套機制下的resource allocation方法,。模擬結果呈現了基於intra-eNB的效能結果,顯示出在訊號邊緣的UE利用D2D-Aided的傳輸模式相對於傳統傳輸型態最大可以有效地提升46 % 資料傳輸量。

With the development of wireless communications technologies and the rising penetration of smart mobile devices, the amount of data transmission becomes quite large. Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) which is a new generation of wireless mobile communications developed by 3GPP provides a simple, time-saving, and low-cost method to deploy network infrastructure, and has become the major 4G standard candidate today. In LTE-A, the specifications define how the mobile devices (User Equipment, UE) communicating with the base station (Evolved NodeB, eNB) via wireless signals and LTE-A core network (Evolved Packet Core, EPC). In this thesis, UE suffering badly signal quality with eNB transmits its data to another UE which has better signal quality with eNB via Device-to-Device communications (D2D), then the UE transmits the received data to eNB to achieve the goal of improving overall transmission efficiency. This thesis proposes a D2D-Aided mechanism to decide the transmission method among conventional and D2D relaying communications. Moreover, the suitable resource allocation mechanisms also proposed. Simulation results show that the UEs in signal edge of eNB can improve up to 46% throughput compared with conventional communications by using proposed D2D-Aided mechanism.
