In recent years, knowledge management has become critical to maintain competitive advantages for the businesses. More and more businesses develop information systems to support knowledge management. These systems are called knowledge management systems. However, what drives firms to implement knowledge management systems is an important issue to solve. In this study we use the TOE (Technology-Organization-Environment) model as based model and make an empirical survey to test the research model. The result finds that top management support, compatibility, pressure of competition, ease of use, perceived benefits, and organizational culture are more significant factors which affect business adoption of knowledge management systems. We also find that top management support, perceived benefits, and organizational culture are more significant factors which affect the user satisfaction and the system use of knowledge management systems.
