This research considered the selectivity of the labor force participation to estimate the Male-female labor equations and return rate by using the seventeen years cross-sectional data under the Taiwan labor market. The literature were adopted three different ways of wage decomposition, including Blinder-Oaxaca, Cotton, and Oaxaca and Ransom model, to decompose the wage differential in two parts, the differences of human capital characteristics and market discrimination, and explored the extent of gender discrimination in the labor market. The empirical results indicate that the market discrimination which obtained from using the Oaxaca and Ransom model was significantly lower than the others by analyzing one year cross-section data, and the market discrimination not as severe as past reported. Moreover, the extent of market discrimination has been a gradual expansion trend over time by using particular data from different years.
