南投縣國民中學東南亞新移民子女在校生活適應探討

摘要


本研究旨在探討南投縣國民中學東南亞新移民子女在校生活適應之研究。本研究採用問卷調查法,以南投縣31所國民中學七、八、九年級的新移民子女為研究對象。主要目的有:(一)瞭解南投縣國中階段新移民子女個人及家庭背景之現況。(二)瞭解南投縣國中階段新移民子女在校生活適應(常規適應、學習適應、師生關係、同儕關係)之現況。(三)探討南投縣國中階段新移民子女學童在不同家庭結構、學習關注、自我概念下對其生活適應上的影響。(四)歸納研究結果,提供給相關政府單位、學校輔導工作人員及新移民家庭家長參考,以幫助國中階段新移民子女能夠生活適應良好,並使其身心健全發展。 本研究以南投縣31所國民中學的新移民子女進行問卷調查,共獲得有效樣本 87 人。依據SPSS for Windows 12 版電腦套裝軟體進行各項統計分析,並以α=.05 顯著水準進行各項考驗。本研究使用的統計方法分別為:描述統計、獨立樣本t 考驗、單因子變異數分析、皮爾遜積差相關等。 其研究結果如下: 一、南投縣國中階段新移民子女家庭現況 (一)新移民子女人數漸增,家庭結構不穩定 (二)新移民子女家庭社經地位普遍低落,親友支持系統薄弱 (三)新移民子女家庭父母婚姻的結合大多為老夫少妻的組合 (四)新移民女性中文識字課程參與程度並不踴躍 二、南投縣國中階段新移民子女在校生活適應現況 (一)新移民子女常規適應良好,唯主動性稍不足 (二)新移民子女學習適應較差,課程無法理解 (三)新移民子女師生互動良好,但缺乏正面肯定 (四)新移民子女在同儕適應上並未受到種族歧視影響 (五)整體而言新移民子女學校生活適應良好 三、南投縣國中階段新移民子女不同家庭背景現況與學校生活適應差異情形 (一)不同年級之新移民子女在學校生活適應有顯著差異 (二)父親職業對新移民子女學校生活適應有顯著影響,母親工作情形則無影響 (三)母親原國籍及華語能力對新移民子女學校生活適應無顯著影響 (四)不同家庭社經地位對新移民子女學校生活適應有顯著影響 四、南投縣國中階段新移民子女學習關注與學校生活適應的相關性 (一)新移民女性肩負起教養新移民子女的責任 (二)新移民女性為新台灣子之家庭與學校聯繫的主要窗口 (三)新移民子女是否參加課後的學習輔導對其學校生活適應並無顯著影響 (四)學習關注情形與新移民子女在校生活適應上並無顯著關聯性 五、南投縣國中階段新移民子女自我概念與學校生活適應的相關性 (一)南投縣國中階段新移民子女整體自我概念良好 (二)生理自我與心理自我概念的高低對新移民子女學校生活適應有顯著影響 (三)家庭自我與道德自我概念的高低對新移民子女的同儕適應無顯著影響 (四)自我概念程度差異與新移民子女在校生活適應上有顯著關聯性

This research aims at exploring what factors influence the school life adjustment of Southeast Asian immigrants’ children in junior high schools of Nantou County. The research adopts the method of questionnaire, taking the seventh, eighth, and ninth grade new immigrants’ children from 31 junior high schools of Nantou County as research subjects. The main purposes of this research consist as follows: (1) To find out the present situation of the new immigrants’ children and their family backgrounds. (2) To explore the factors which influence the school life adjustment of the new immigrants’ children in Nantou County junior high schools (ex: routines, learning adjustment, student-teacher relationship, and peer relationship). (3)To discuss how different family structures, parents’ concern on learning, and self-concept affect life adjustment of the new migrants’ children. (4) The findings of this research will be offered to the relevant government units, counselors at schools and parents of the migrant families in order to help them to have a better life adjustment in schools and better development in body and mind. 87 effective samples were collected through method of stratified cluster sampling. The SPSS for Windows 12 version of PC bundled software is applied in the statistical analysis, and ⍺ =0.5 is also carried out in every test. The statistical methods applied in this research are: Descriptive Statistics, Independent Samples T Test, One-Way Analysis of Variance, and Pearson Product Moment Correlations. With regard to the new immigrants’ children, the following conclusions can be made: (1)The present family situation of the children in Nantou County junior high schools is as follows: a.There are increasing number of new immigrants’ children with unstable family structure. b.The socio-economic status of the families are generally low, and the support from their relatives and friends is weak. c.The most common combination of the children’s parents is an old husband with a young wife. d.The female migrants tend not to attend any Chinese courses enthusiastically. (2)The influences of the school life adjustment on new immigrants’ children in Nantou County junior high schools: a.They make a good adaptation to the routines school life, but the initiative is slightly insufficient. b.The learning adjustment shows worse performance because the schoolcourses are unable to be understood for them. c.The interaction between them and teachers goes smoothly, but lacks positive encouragements. d. Racial discrimination does not reveals in peer interactions. e. As a whole, they adjust quite well in their school life. (3)The discrepancies in the different family structures and the school life adjustment in Nantou County junior high schools. a.Children from different grades present apparent iscrepancies in school life adjustment. b.Father’s vocation makes a great impact on the school life adjustment of them, but that shows no influences on mother’s side. c.Mother’s former nationality and Chinese proficiency do not apparently influence their school life adjustment. d.Different socio-economic statuses deeply affect their school life adjustment. (4)The relevance between parents’ concern on learning and school life adjustment in Nantou County junior high schools a. Female migrants undertake the responsibility of bringing up the children. b.Female migrants become the major bridge between their children and schools. c.The participation of the courses after school shows no influence on the school life adjustment of them. d.There is no obvious relation between the parents’ concern on learning and the school life adjustment. (5)The relativity between self-concept and the school life adjustment of the new immigrants’ children in Nantou County junior high schools. a.The new immigrants’ children during junior high schools in Nantou County show good self-concept. b.The influence of physical self and psychic self on the school life adjustmen is remarkable for the new immigrants’ children. c.Family self and moral-ethical self revel less important influence on the peer interactions for the new immigrants’ children. d.The coorelation between the difference of self-concept and the school life adjustment is significant for the new immigrants’ children.
