企業國際化程度與創新對於企業績效影響之研究 -以中國製造業資料為例

The Impact of Internationalization and Innovation on Company Performance - Evidence from China Manufacturing Industry Data

摘要

國際化與創新之研究於國際企業領域已被討論多時，但新興國家之企業及其績效研究尚未廣泛的被注意。本研究探討中國製造業國際化與創新對於公司績效影響，隨著中國改革開放經濟快速成長，許多企業為了永續經營，紛紛自海外拓展市場(國際化)、開發新產品(創新)、或是同時採用兩者策略，然而，在資源有限的環境下，公司需要妥善配置資源，才能為公司創造更多價值。本研究以中國上市櫃製造業公司作為樣本，研究期間為2005年至2014年，採用追蹤資料對研究假說進行實證分析。實證結果指出為:(1) 國際化與績效間呈現先遞減後增加U型關係，國際化初期會投入大量成本，績效會呈現負向，待國際化程度穩定之後，企業透過先前之經驗累積，績效會逐漸提升；(2) 創新與公司績效間存在顯著的解釋能力；(3) 國際化和創新之間的交互作用對於公司績效沒有顯著影響。

The literature on multinational corporations lacks in depth study within emerging countries context. This study analyzed the effects of internationalization and innovation on firm performance in the case of China manufacturing industry. Firms grow either by attracting new customers (internationalization), by developing new products (innovation), or by using mixed strategy. Internationalization and innovation are key drivers for corporate sustainability. Due to resource scarcity, company must properly allocate its resources to maintain competitive advantages.
This study focuses on China manufacturing firms to explore the relationship between internationalization, innovation on firm performance. Furthermore, the study employ panel data regression to test the hypotheses. The empirical evidence shows that the relationship between internationalization and firm performance is U-shaped and that innovation has significant impact on firms’ performance. However, result shows the interaction between internationalization and innovation has no effect on firm performance.
