而獲得較多工作支持項目的教師為PGDE(學士後進修教育學分)學歷的教師。
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the work stress, and the physical and mental status of Singapore primary school teachers. Work supports are the moderating variables for the study. Full time public primary school teachers in Singapore are invited for the study. Questionnaire was sent to the them through website. A total of 102 usable responses were received. The data were analyzed by statistical methods such as percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent sample t test, one-way analysis of variance, person product moment correlation, and Scheffe method. The results reveal that, firstly, stress faced by Singapore primary school teachers is not a significant. Secondly, monetary reward is the main work support for the primary school teachers. Teachers who possessed Post Graduate Degree Education received the most support. Thirdly, the health status of the teachers falls within moderate levels. Differences within background variables and health was not significant. Fourthly, work stress do affect the physical and mental health of the teachers. The greater the pressure, the greater the teacher's physical and mental problems. Lastly, the stress and physical and mental health relationship is not moderated by work support for teachers. The study shows that work support is not the moderating factor for primary school teachers. The current work supports given do not moderate significantly. So if we could reduce stress faced by the primary school teachers, we will be able to enhance their physical and mental health. This is the direction that worth pursuing.
