近年來,隨著科技的進步,帶動著網路的發展,從電腦的普及化到智慧型手機的普及化,使得透過電腦與智慧型手機使用網路的人口也逐漸增加。也正因如此才有了虛擬社群的產生,從原本一開始的傳統社群活動轉變成線上的虛擬社群活動,不管是早期的線上討論區、聊天室的初步社群團體發展,到了中期的MSN、Yahoo!即時通的社群即時通訊化,甚至到現在的Facebook、Twitter、Instagram的整合虛擬社群多樣功能的社群媒體,每一項在推出時無不造成轟動,在社群網路上被大量傳播的文字訊息、圖片、影片宣告著網路虛擬社群社交時代的來臨,更象徵著透過這些社群媒體將是未來社群發展的主流核心地帶。 本研究以社會價值為核心,透過社群發展的構面來了解使用者在目前對於使用社群媒體的情況,並延伸出了發展社群媒體使用的不同價值構面問項,包含個人社交(Personal Social)、社會臨場感(Social Presence)、職場社會價值(Job Social Value)、社群團體(Social Community)、社群商務(Social Commerce)、負面社會價值(Negative Social Value)等六個構面,藉以探討使用者對目前社群媒體使用之目的與觀感。
