江泰馨美術設計語彙研究應用於珠寶設計之創作

摘要


本研究選擇台灣早期美術設計師江泰馨做完整的個案研究,藉由設計師成長背景、從事設計工作的歷程、設計作品等面相的探討,以串連設計工作相關事件之記錄,豐富台灣平面設計產業歷史記錄不足的遺憾,並將設計師個人設計語彙應用於藝術生活商品中,以期呈現台灣早期設計師「設計救經濟」的精神。 研究資料中先以深度訪談及設計師個人史料分析兩方面進行探討,研究發現設計師個人成長背景及所受訓練兩者間關連密切,研究對象出身於日據時代,環境窘迫,性格壓抑,藝術成為其心底熱情散發的窗口;而從學徒到中國生產力中心一路的嚴苛訓練過程,不僅穿越了台灣平面設計發展的長廊,也讓他的創作富含時代意義,並使其「心像藝術」創作擁有極高的藝術價值。這個研究除了對台灣早期美術設計師歷史記載的意義外,也整理這位台灣早期優秀設計師作品內含精神主義與風格呈現,更是一種文化傳承的認知,還有更深層(精神層面)的意義,一種情感上的懷念與轉移。 近十年文化創意產業在政府的推動下,台灣民眾的生活要求不再只是「可以用就好了!」,對於「美學經濟」更有深刻體認,在創意產業中已投入相當的人力;設計師在這產業內扮演著最重要的推動角色,工業設計師、平面設計師、室內設計師、…等,皆投入許多心力、時間,現在市場上隨處可見創意生活商品;台灣在十年前有藝術家也早已投入,將創作、畫作作品應用在生活商品上,如:劉其偉、楊英風等,但是藝術生活商品在國外早已行之有年,甚至成為流行時尚的主流品牌如:畢卡索、普普大師Andy Warhol等,他們的畫作經過產品設計後轉換成家飾、服飾等等,透過這些產品的銷售與品牌行銷的宣傳,這些藝術家的創作主張、藝術精神得以廣大流傳,並且與當代人們生活密切結合,這也是藝術生活商品開發最大的意義。將研究對象江泰馨的美術語彙蛻變為「珠寶」,表達對這位台灣早期設計師的藝術精神致最高尊敬之意。

This case study includes a comprehensive review and discussion of the upbringing, working experiences and portfolio of the graphic designer, Jiang Tai Shing. The objective of the study is to enrich the poorly documented history of the graphic design in Taiwan and encourage the incorporation of designers’ glossary into consumer products that are infused with artistic quality. It is hoped that through this comprehensive study, “design is the savior of economy”, a spirit withheld by Taiwanese designers from early period, can be represented. According to the information gathered from an interview with Jiang Tai Shing and her personal background, there is a positive correlation between his upbringing and the type of profession training he received. Jiang Tai Shing was born in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period, when people were environmentally and physically suppressed. As a result, he sought art as a channel for emotional alleviation. Through the training from his apprenticeship to the time spend in China Productivity Center; he witnessed the progression of the graphic design in Taiwan. Therefore, with his unique artistic talent, he was able to create highly respected art, infused with symbolic mental images that traveled back through space and time. In addition to the documentation of Jiang Tai Shing, this study organizes the styles, features and spirit of his portfolio into a cultural and emotional heritage that are to be recognized. Thanks to the decade-long effort of Taiwan’s government in the area of cultural creative industry, the value of artistry is gaining its ground among the Taiwanese. Designers in various fields play the most important role in the creative industry. These talented professionals have been dedicating their time and passion into creative consumer products that we see on the market today. As early as ten years ago, artists like Qi Wei Liu and Ying Feng Yang have already been practicing the idea of creative industry. In addition, this trend has already taken its root overseas for a long time and helped to produce main stream brand names like Picasso, Andy Warhol and etc. Paintings from these two artists have been transformed into decorative objects and clothing that are distributed into our household and daily lives. Inevitably, mental imageries of their masterpieces, via the display and of common consumer products, are intertwined with our cultures and subconscious mind, which depicts the essence of creative products. Having said that, transforming Jiang Tai Shing’s artistic glossary into jewelries would be the highest respect that one can pay to him.
