本研究之目的,在描述並探討我國職業網球選手,對於競爭環境所產生的價值與規範以及地位與角色的自我互動過程以及過程中所產生之衝突、順應以及同化之社會過程的經驗。並就研究之結果提出影響我國網球發展的深層因素,加以探討研究。研究的發現如下: 一、 網球選手對於網球運動價值的自我詮釋層次有三:(一 )、「健身與休閒娛樂」、(二)、「升學資格與工作的取得」、(三)、「成就感與自我實現」,在自我互動中發展之規範如下:(一)「早熟與獨立」、(二)、「犧牲個人與家庭生活」、(三)、「訓練與課業並重」。 二、 網球選手在台灣的網球競爭環境的自我互動中,所詮釋的是運動地位的模糊以及在兩種雙重角色「子女 — 選手」、「學生 — 運動員」與職業網球先驅者的多重角色之間的適應與調整。 三、 網球選手在面對台灣的競爭環境時,在其自我的互動上,必須經常改變、適應社會的價值與規範,並且在地位與角色的衝突中尋求合理的自我詮釋,如此才有可能在此一內、外在競爭激烈的環境中生存。 四、 影響我國網球運動發展的深層因素有三:(一)、傳統社會對於運動本質的貶抑(二)、運動工具性意義的渲染、(三)、訓練封閉、進路僵化的環境。 五、 台灣網球運動的發展可從下列兩個方向著手,(一)、運動本質的提升、(二)、網球入門課程的開發與推廣。 關鍵詞:競爭環境、自我互動
The purposes of this thesis are: A. to describe and discuss the self-interaction progress of Taiwan’s professional tennis players in the competitive environment, including the values and norms, the status and roles resulting from the competitive environment. The related socialization experiences of conflicts, accommodations and assimilation are also included. B. to find out the deep factors which influence the development of Taiwan’s tennis environment. The thesis has five results: 1. Tennis players have three stages of value self-interaction: (1) health and recreation, (2) academic qualification and occupation, (3) sense of achievement and self-actualization. And they have three norms self-interaction: (1) early-maturity and independence, (2) sacrifice of personal and family life, (3) equal emphasis on tennis and academics training. 2. In Taiwan’s competitive environment, the tennis players have got the interpretation of their ambiguous status from their self-interaction. And the tennis players always interpret their roles in a double-faceted ways – “children – athletes” and “students – athletes” , and they have to adjust to the complicated roles. 3. When the tennis players are faced with the competitiveness of Taiwan’s tennis environment, they often feel the need of adjusting themselves to the change of social values and norms, and search for a reasonable self-interpretation in the conflicts of their status and roles. Only in this way can they survive the very competitive environment. 4. There are three deep factors which influence Taiwan’s tennis development: (1) the traditional degradation of sports, (2) the over-emphasis on sports’ being a tool for getting something beyond sport itself, (3) the narrow training environment and rare career options. 5. There are two ways to develop Taiwan’s tennis: (1) the elevation of tennis for itself, (2) the promotion of beginners tennis classes. Key words: competitive environment, self-interaction
