This thesis is based on “Minimal Music”, make a study of the music style for “minimalism”, and analyze the music works of the representative composers. And then, produce the creative music works in practice. Discuss about “Minimalism” to the following items: (1) General state “Minimalism” for every variety of fields application (2) Where the “Minimalism” comes from (3) Music Definition of “Minimalism” (4) Music Outline and Music Vocabulary of “Minimalism” Analyze the music works of 4 typical composers and research their creative methods: (1) La Monte Young (String for Trio) (2) Terry Riley (In C) (3) Steve Reich (Piano Phase) (4) Philip Glass (Music in Similar Motion) Based on the result of studying the minimal music, compose and assay the following music works: (1) Four Pieces for piano (2) Revolution- for clarinet, viola, cello and piano (3) Four Pieces for chamber orchestra
