摘要

在現代流行樂中，橫跨不同的風格並互相交融而產生的音樂類型是很常被聽到的，這種融合而生的音樂以聆聽者角度而言，除了可以為傳統的曲調加入新的感受外，對於演奏或演唱者更是有許多挑戰。
本文內容是在以分析筆者之畢業演出「The Nick Javier Group音樂會」的研究及詮釋。本場音樂會包含以爵士樂為根基，並交融節奏藍調(Rhythm & Blues)而生的多種不同演奏樂風，這些音樂類型的核心概念往前溯源是以爵士樂的理論及演奏型態為奠基，進而往後發展出混合不同種類樂風而生的多種音樂樣貌。演出曲目除了有爵士樂中的搖擺(Swing)和浪漫(Ballad)風格之外，並橫跨了嘻哈(Hip hop)、靈魂樂(Soul)、藍調(Blues) 、放克(Funk)等不同種類的節奏藍調樂風。
筆者希望可以藉由本次音樂會的演出及報告撰寫內容，在此拋磚引玉下讓更多人了解爵士樂並非傳統印象中的高不可攀，也可以是有著活潑及多種變化可能性的樣貌。

In modern pop music, songs are often produced by blending different styles/genres of music together. To listeners, this sort of fusion can add new feeling to traditional tunes. For musicians, fusion can provide many technical challenges as well.
This article provides analysis and interpretation of the content of the author's graduate performance, "The Nick Javier Group Concert", a performance consisting of a blend of different musical styles in the Jazz idiom. Rooted in Jazz theory and performance, the selected performance blends the Swing and Ballad traditions of Jazz with Rhythm and Blues, Soul, Funk, and Hip hop.
By means of reporting the content of this concert in written form, it is the author's hope that more people will regard jazz not as an unattainable historical relic, but as something full of life and future possibilities.
