臺灣齊天大聖信仰研究

《西遊記》最生動的人物是孫悟空。全書從孫悟空誕生說起，最終敘述悟空保護唐僧到西天、送經回到東土，成為鬥戰勝佛。《西遊記》不僅描述了齊天大聖的來歷背景，對其神通與神能也有詳細的描述，塑造出齊天大聖的英雄形象，而他所展現出堅忍不拔與驍勇善戰的形象，成為齊天大聖信仰的重要依據。人們把他視為鎮壓邪魔、趨吉避凶的守護神，成為臺灣信仰的一部分，齊天大聖不僅為人們心靈的寄託，也展示出人們對生活的盼望。本論文是以田野調查的方式，探討齊天大聖（孫悟空）信仰的特質，並且透過調查的結果解讀與分析，呈現臺灣齊天大聖信仰的蘊涵。雖然臺灣主祀齊天大聖的廟宇數量並不多，但仍有其功能和意義，藉此結果供未來研究之參考。

The most vividly-depicted character in Journey to the West is Sun Wu-kong. The book starts with the birth of Sun Wu-kong, and ends with a description of how Sun Wu-kong becomes the “Victorious Fighting Buddha” after he guards the monk Tang Sanzang (Xuanzang) on the journey into the western regions to take Buddhist sutras back to the East. The novel describes in detail the background of Qi Tian Da Sheng (Sun Wu-kong) as well as his remarkable abilities and magical power, portraying him as a hero. Also, his image of being persistent and courageous has laid crucial foundation for Qi Tian Da Sheng belief. As a part of Taiwanese religious belief now, Qi Tian Da Sheng is regarded as a patron saint that helps people seek luck and avoid calamity. Furthermore, Qi Tian Da Sheng has become a spiritual pillar for people and shown the expectation of people’s lives. This thesis aims to probe into attributes of the religious belief in “Qi Tian Da Shen” (Sun Wu-kong) by means of field investigation. Also, it presents the implications of “Qi Tian Da Shen” belief in Taiwan. Although the number of the Qi Tian Da Sheng temples in Taiwan is not many, they still have their own values and significance. Through the research, this thesis can be a reference for future studies.
