摘要

台灣司法通譯協會成立於 2014年10月，為台灣第一個全國性司法通譯專業協會，目前已於各地擁有超過 400名會員、10個地區辦事處。Tseng(1992)台灣會議口譯專業化社會學模型視專業協會為專業化過程中重要的發展指標，本研究以該模型為架構，透過半結構式訪談法訪談台灣司法通譯協會成員，探討目前台灣司法通譯之專業化發展現況，司法通譯之角色認同與定位，以及協會的發展現況與未來。
研究結果發現：1. 目前司法通譯從業者與使用者對於司法通譯的角色、身分之定位尚未明確、彼此衝突，有待凝聚共識 2. 台灣司法通譯協會目前定位仍介於新住民團體與專業協會兩者之間，且未來需加強與培訓機構、學術界之合作，以發揮專業協會之功能，與達成協會目標。文末並根據研究成果，以台灣司法通譯協會為根據，提出修正之司法通譯專業化模型。

Founded in October 2014, Taiwan Judicial Interpreters Association is the first legal interpreter’s professional association in Taiwan. Within one year, the association has already attracted more than 400 members and set up 10 local offices. According to Tseng’s sociological model of the professionalization of conference interpreters, the founding of a professional association represents a milestone in the process of professionalization. Based on Tseng’s model, this study looks into the professionalization of legal interpreters in Taiwan, the role and identification of legal interpreters, and the present and future of the TIJA through semi-structured interviews with its members.
Research results point out : 1. confusions and conflicts of interests on legal interpreter’s professional role and identity among the users of interpreters and interpreters themselves, and more discussion is needed to reach a consensus among all stake holders 2. the role and function of TIJA is now in between that of a professional organization and an immigrants’ organization and awaits further clarification, and TIJA needs to cooperate with the academia and training institutions before reaching its goal and fulfilling the responsibilities of a professional association. In the end, a revised model of the professionalization of legal interpreting is proposed based on research results.
