音樂意象之形色設計創作研究

摘要


聽覺與視覺是人類認識這個世界一個重要的途徑。音樂為抽象的聽覺形式,而造形及色彩則為具體的視覺傳達設計形式,兩者之間存在著相互對應且密不可分的關係。從俄國藝術家康定斯基所提出色彩與音樂的相關理論(1995)中,提出視覺不儘可以展演出音樂裡的畫面,讓抽象的音樂具體化,並藉由視覺的演譯強化音樂了表現力量。因此,本創作研究為探討音樂與視覺兩者之間的相關性與共通性,探討音樂對於視覺的造形及色彩要素之間的共感覺關係,並希望12件創作作品能藉由兩種藝術領域的交織與互動,歸納分析出如何將抽象的音樂轉化為視覺符號的表現手法與運用。 本研究藉由文獻探討法分析與彙整音樂與形色之相關資料,並將研究結果作為音樂與形色關係之問卷調查的參考內容。創作依據的音樂樣本,選擇2012年至2014年國內外最具代表性的金曲獎與葛萊美獎之最佳年度歌曲獎,總計6首獲獎作品。問卷調查對象共計100人(音樂與設計相關領域背景者各50人),實測共分為兩個階段進行,第一階段為針對6首歌曲的音樂與色彩之共感覺調查,第二階段則進行音樂與造形之共感覺。最後,將6首歌曲之問卷調查結果,作為本研究創作設計的參考依據。 針對本創作研究的6首歌曲,經過多次的實驗創作與修正後,總計創作出12件海報作品。創作結果發現,在音樂的視覺符號轉換結果中,透過歌曲歌詞內容之含義可以改變或決定視覺創作的概念與表現形式。在音樂與色彩之間關係的相關文獻中,雖然每個音階都有其代表的色彩,但在本創作實驗中較難表現出與歌曲含義有直接聯想的視覺效果,而在音階高低對應的色彩的明度上,卻有直接的關係。音樂在色彩與造形之間的關係中,創作結果也顯示,並非完全如康丁斯基的色彩與造形理論--三角形為黃色;方形為紅色;圓形為藍色,而是由音樂的內容、調性與節奏感而影響視覺的造形。

Hearing and vision are important pathways for humans to understand the world. Music is an abstract auditory form, while shape and color are specific forms of visual communication in design, both having a corresponding and inseparable tie. According to the color and music related theories proposed by Russian artist Kandinsky (1995), it is stated that visual not only contributes out the display of music images, but also turns music from abstract into concrete. In addition, the interpretation of visual intensifies music performance power. Therefore, this study aims to explore the relationship and commonality between music and visual as well as the synesthesia between the shape and color elements of visual. It is also expected that through the intertwining interaction between the two art fields, the 12 created works can be summarized to analyze how performance techniques and uses can convert abstract music into visual symbols. Through the literature review method, the music, shape and color related information was analyzed in this study. The results shall serve as the reference content of the questionnaire survey on the relationship between music, shape and color. For the music samples based on which creation was made, the most representative Golden Melody Award Song of the Year and Song of the Year Grammy Award from 2012 to 2014 were selected, a total of six winning songs. The survey participants comprise 100 people (50 from the music field and 50 from the design field). The formal test was conducted in two stages. The first stage focuses on the music and color synesthesia of the six songs; the second stage targets the synesthesia of music and shape. Finally, the survey results of the six songs were included as the basis for the creation design in this study. Targeting the six songs in the creation research, after repeated experimental creations and modifications, a total of 12 posters design were created. The creation results show that in terms of the visual symbol conversion outcome for music, the implications of the lyrics may have changed or determined the concept and form of expression for visuals creation. In relevant literatures on the relationship between music and color, despite the representative color of each scale, the visual effect of direct associations to the lyrics was difficult to express in this creation experiment. On the other hand, the color luminance corresponding to the scales showed a direct relationship. Creation results on the relationship between music, color and shape also show that Kandinsky’s color and shape theory of “a triangle is yellow, a square is red, a circle is blue” is not entirely true; instead, it is the shape of music content, tonality, and rhythm that affects visual.
