This study aims to verify whether the risk attitude of financial behavior of insurance practitioners’ conforms to prospect theory. Our empirical study results show that, insurance practitioners’ always show an attitude of risk lover whether they are faced with gains or losses, and the overall risk attitude is not consistent with certainty effect as well as isolation effect, from the perspective of prospect theory. However, in terms of losses, there is reflection effect. Based on the study results, it is also shown that gender is not the key factor on the risk tolerance of insurance practitioners’.
