電影融入英語教學對國中九年級學生英語學習成效之影響

摘要


本研究的主要目的在於探討應用電影作為國民中學之英語教學內容是否能提高學生的英語學習成效以及提昇學生的學習動機,以評估應用電影進行英語教學之參考。本研究讓學生在觀賞電影時創造一個非刻意的學習環境,加上看電影中所進行的系列教學活動,引發學生學習動機以及提升學生英語學習成效。研究對象為桃園市某國中兩班九年級學生,實施教學前先進行前測,接下來對對照組進行傳統講述法教學,實驗組進行為期四週的電影融入英語教學。之後進行後測,比較對照組與實驗組之後測成績是否有顯著差異,並進一步對學生實施學習感受問卷,以了解其學習動機、抱持之態度及想法。最後根據上述之研究成果,研究者提出後續研究之具體建議及教學提示,可做為未來電影英語教學有興趣的研究者及英語教學者之參考。

The purpose of this research was to explore the effects of using movies into English teaching on ninth graders’ learning achievements, to realize if learning achievements and the motivation in English learning of junior school students can be enhanced by means of films as one of the course materials. The results of the research can be used to assess the adoption of films to help teach English in junior high schools, by which it can be provided as a reference for English course in the future. In this research, students learned English in an incidental environment while watching movies, participating the English teaching activities in classrooms. Students enhanced their learning achievements and promoted their learning motivation. The subjects of the test in the research were 63 students of 2 grade-9 classes from a junior high school in Taoyuan City. One class was used as the experimental group by teaching with films, the other was designed as the control group by teaching with the grammar-translation approach. There was a pre-test before the teaching program, followed by a four-week teaching program, and then the post-test. To examine if there is a significant difference between the scores of the post-test, a questionnaire on the motivation in learning English with films were also carried out to know the learning motivation, attitude and thoughts of the students. According to the above researches, some suggestions and teaching implications were given in the final part of the study which can be provided as a reference for researchers and English teachers who are interested in teaching with films in the future.
