在本研究中我們巧妙地將USB介面與網路控制與監測系統整合在一起,且為了降低整個居家照護或是遠端監控的開發成本,捨棄了昂貴的PC主機,改採用能精簡與穩定的嵌入式系統來實現整個設計的架構。在此充分應用USB介面的特性,透過ARM微處理機(PXA255/Xscale)來實現USB主機的功能,並將各類型的延伸介面周邊裝置皆設計成一USB從裝置,層層地建構出以USB介面為核心的USB主機網路控制系統。如此,將每一個所量測點或是控制點視為一個USB從裝置,而依據USB介面規格可連接至多127個裝置。 至於外部網路的部分,可藉由此ARM-Based嵌入式系統來完成TCP/IP協定通訊工作。如此,即可透過WAP,PDA或是GPRS手機來執行遠端的監測與控制。透過本研究所實現的外部與內部網路相互連結方式,即可建構出最佳化,便利性高,以及低單價的嵌入式USB主機網路控制系統。
In this research, we integrated two systems in one — USB Interface and Internet Control System and Monitoring System. The purpose of this integration is to reduce the developmental cost of both homecare and remote monitor system. The design of this project adopted a more dedicated and stable embedded USB system as the platform instead of a high cost PC host. The USB interface is designed as a core platform of the whole system and the ARM microprocessor is implanted to achieve the performance of USB hot and extend all kinds of interfaces in terms of RS-485, Power-Line, RF, and peripheral devices as USB slave devices. The interconnections of the above multiple devices can expand to several control points or methods to form as a home internal network. Moreover, the system can connect to USB RS-485 device as a remote signal collectors pertaining to the measurements of temperature, humidity or electrophysiological signals to meet the needs of various distances or functions. Additionally, the system can adopt the USB-RF device as the controller for the Input/Output operation. Last but not the least; regarding to each measured points or Input/Output controller functioned as a USB slave device, this designed UBS interface platform can connect to at least 127 multiple slave devices. In relation to the External Internet, the design applies the Ethernet chipsets – LAN91C111 and SMSC in the ARM-Based embedded system to complete TCP/IP communication. Therefore, users can easily use any WAP, PDA or GPRS hand phones to connect to remote monitor and control. With the considerations of integrated internal and external network, this project will produce the most user friendly, cost effective and optimal efficacy embedded USB Host Internet Control System.
