圖書館每年所購買電子資料庫種類眾多,如能充份善加利用圖書館提供的電子資源,就能發揮最大效益。各校圖書館做法不一,有的是直接購買外面廠商所設計公眾化的查詢系統,其餘的則是自行開發設計查詢系統,兩者各有利弊。研究者因深刻體驗到舊有查詢系統在前端操作及後端管理的困擾,故而重新規劃建置一套電子資料庫查詢系統,有效彙整圖書館內所有相關電子資源,並且提供人性化使用者查詢介面,以期望提昇系統使用滿意度及維護管理績效。
Each year libraries purchase rights to use various kinds of electronic the information banks; however, these resources could benefit most people only when they are friendly to users. Most libraries adopt two strategies to help users quickly find what they need. One is to develop their own query system; the other is to purchase systems developed by service providers. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. After experiencing numerous known and unknown bugs generated from existing query systems in the university, and also the frustrated efficiency unfriendly user interfaces, the researcher the idea proposes to develop a brand new query system. This system provides a friendly interface for users to make query, and for librarians to maintain their systems and manage related information. Hopefully it will give users the most efficient and satisfying using experience. The new system is designed to integrate every electronic resource that can be acquired on the intranet.
