快速且低成本的背光模組檢測方法之研究

摘要


在平面顯示器的組成元件之中,背光模組是一個重要的零組件,因為它提供平面顯示器充足且平均的光源。根據工研院IEK的估計,背光模組全球市場在2008年超過140億美金。目前已有許多背光模組廠商被要求在產品出廠前必須經過全檢的品管程序。對於背光模組的檢測,目前業界主要是使用TOPCON的BM-7A 輝度計來做檢測,量測方法是將背光模組以人工方式放置輝度計正下方,進而量測單點的輝度值,若要量測同一片背光模組其他檢測點的輝度,則必須透過手動或是X-Y 移動平台的協助,依序將量測點移到BM-7A 正下方進行量測。由於這種方法在檢測時相當的費時,因此在產線上不易實施產品全檢。有鑑於此,本論文提出一種快速、低成本且有效率的背光模組輝度量測方法,可以實現產品全檢的目標。本論文使用數位攝影機一次對多片背光模組進行取像、計算檢測點所涵蓋像素的平均亮度值、使用最小誤差線性迴歸模式以及類神經網路模式,將影像亮度值轉換成BM-7A輝度值,然後進行檢測。以檢測8片背光模組為例,本論文的系統其檢測時間約為5秒鐘,在檢測速度上,是現有檢測設備速度的60倍,除此之外,本系統的成本也比目前現有設備便宜許多,約為1/4左右。

Backlight module is an important component of flat panel because it provides uniform light to the panel. According to the estimation of IEK, the global market of backlight module reaches 14 billion US dollars in 2008. Many backlight modules manufactories are requested to have all their products be inspected before shipment, however, it is not easy. In the current practice of the industry, backlight module is inspected by a luminance colorimeter which is heavy and can only inspect one check point at a time. To inspect all check points of a backlight module, the backlight module have to be moved manually or by a XY table, and this is time-consuming process. To accomplish the goal of having all products be inspected, a fast and low cost inspection system is proposed in this thesis. To inspect faster with lower cost, the proposed system uses a camera to take an image of multiple backlight modules, calculates image intensity for every check point of backlight modules, transforms image intensities to luminance values by using least square linear regression model or neural network models, and finally makes decisions on the inspection results. The proposed system is 60 times faster than the current practice when 8 backlight modules are inspected, for example, and the cost remains one quarter or less of the colorimeter.
