ATP選手賽事參與之績效評估—二階段資料包絡分析法之應用

摘要


在職業網壇中,世界排名是一項衡量選手績效極為重要的指標,選手的世界排名以單一項目「積分」或「累積獎金」作為排名依據,選手可以透過參加多場比賽,來賺取積分或累積獎金,進而提升其世界排名。世界男子職業網球聯合會(Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP)選手表現之績效評估中,過去文獻並未對其賽事參與給予相關的策略建議。因此,究竟選手在參賽選擇上該如何做選擇,可以達到提升世界排名的目標,是本篇論文的研究重點。 本篇論文,將以兩階段資料包絡分析法(Data Envelopment Analysis, DEA) ,探討ATP世界排名前六十四名選手之賽事參與效率;並運用DIKW架構(Data-to-Information-to-Knowledge-to-Wisdom Model),從資料的蒐集分析到後續的決策執行,作一系列的研究。使用的數據來源為ATP官網所提供之52週選手參賽表現資料。檢視賽事參與選擇的整體效率(Overall Efficiency)、純技術效率(Pure Technical Efficiency)與規模效率(Scale Efficiency),並做差額變異分析 (Analysis of Slack Variable)與參考群體分析(Analysis of Reference Groups);另外進行兩階段DEA效率的趨勢分析,與效率矩陣分析。 論文最後,涵蓋決策與執行,針對ATP選手給予不同層級的建議。包含選手參賽策略思維基本概念、透過兩階段DEA分析探討選手自我管理之意涵,最後提出ATP選手賽事選擇策略建議方案。

World rank is the most of important index to measure tennis players’ performance in their professional career. ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) creates two items, point and prize, to calculate players’ rank. In general, players join many competitions to make as many points and prizes as they can in order to increase their rank in the world. However, few previous researches had provided Advice of Match Choice/ Competition Choice to the participation in ATP competitions. Therefore, how to increase ATP players’ world rank through choosing “right” competition is the main purpose of this research. This research focuses on performance appraisal for ATP’s players with two-stages data envelopment analysis. Two-Stages DEA is used to discuss about the profile of efficiency of players’ match participation. In addition, the process of research uses DIKW model that includes data collection, data analysis, knowledge and insight getting. All the data is collected from official website of ATP. The data captured players who ranked behind 64 in the world form April 25, 2016 to April 17, 2017. Results of this research include overall efficiency, pure technical efficiency, scale efficiency, analysis of slack variable and analysis of reference groups.” Besides, trend analysis and matrix analysis are also conducted. Finally, the research includes aspects of decision and execution, providing multiple suggestions such as framework of participation strategy, self-management implement for players and alternative strategies to match participation for ATP players.
