In this study, we analyze and eliminate moiré image arising from the liquid crystal display (LCD). The analysis and judgment of moiré degradation is based on Fourier transformation and two models of human visions: (1) contrast sensitivity and (2) lightness response. To improve the computational efficiency, we introduce the luma image. The elimination of moiré behavior is to search optimum solution in the searching space through the particle swarm optimization (PSO). The verification result shows that we can predict moiré pattern and judge moiré severity score. The moiré free range can be found by PSO in the design example.
