本論文研製一波束合成控制器,用來控制巴特勒矩陣波束形成器,以實現二維空間之波束合成功能。巴特勒矩陣波束形成器可使4×4平面陣列天線,於空間中產生十六個正交特徵波束。利用這十六個特徵波束為基底,以兩相鄰或四相鄰之特徵波束來合成新的波束。因此,在本論文中,我們設計此波束合成控制器,以產生各種新波束。搭配此波束控制器,我們使用LabVIEW軟體執行演算法,來供給波束合成電壓,完成自動化波束之量測。最後,分別在兩相鄰與四相鄰之特徵波束中合成出四十九個波束,以提升此相列天線在二維空間中的解析度。在操作頻率2.45 GHz,四十九個波束之量測天線增益8.1 dBi至-2.3 dBi,旁波辦比值為4 dB至16.7 dB。
In this thesis, a beamforming controller was designed to control the Bulter matrix beamformer for two-dimensional beamforming of an array antenna. For a four-by-four planar array, the Bulter matrix beamforming scheme can generate sixteen orthogonal characteristic beams in two-dimensional space. Base on these sixteen characteristic beams, an arbitrary beam can be synthesized from two or four adjacent characteristic beams. The required control voltage for synthesizing the new beam was computed and generated from LabVIEW software. The beamforming controller for a four-by-four microstrip array was implemented in printed-circuit board. The beamforming function was tested. Totally these are 49 beams were formed. The measured peak gains of 49 beams are -2.3 to 8.1 dBi and the side-lobe level is 4 to 16.7 dB.
