公民教育融入成人英語教學之行動研究-以台南市社區大學為例

摘要


此研究運用行動研究法,探討與了解將公民教育融入成人英語教學所能給學員帶來的學習成效與影響。本研究以台南市社區大學「英文,簡單就好班級」為研究場域,運用行動研究之循環歷程並融入合作學習之教學方法來設計課程以及實施教學,整體過程中並運用了文件蒐集、半結構訪談等方式來進行研究資料之蒐集,藉由研究歷程中不斷的行動、檢視、反省與調整,達成發展符合社區大學公民理念之成人英語課程、檢討公民教育融入成人英語教學之成人學員的英文學習反應,以及探討運用公民意識融入之英語教學,對於成人學員公民意識的啟發有何影響。   由本研究之結論可知,為了符合台南市社區大學辦學理念之開啟公民意識的學習課程,教師可以透過運用公民英文電影營造有助成人學員學習英文的學習情境、以及認識公民議題的環境。同時,教師也可結合使用合作學習之教學模式,藉由執行公民議題相關之英語學習合作活動,不僅可以促成成人學員彼此之間的正向性依賴以及對於公民議題之深刻討論,不僅可增進學員的英語力,也更進而開啟不同的公民思維。

The research applies the method of action research for investigating and understanding the outcomes and effects of merging civil education into adult English teaching. The research is targeted at the class of “English, Being simple is Being Good” of Tainan Community University, applying the circular process of action research as well as the teaching method of cooperative learning to design and execute teaching. The researcher uses documentary analysis, and semi-structural interviews to collect the research information. Through the constant actions, examination, reflections as well as adjustments to develop the adult English course meeting the civil awareness ideas of Tainan Community, to discover the adult learners’ English learning responses to the English teaching which is merged with civil education, and to discuss the edifications of adult learners’ civil awareness after the learners receive the English teaching bringing in civil education. According to the conclusion of the research, for meeting up with the educational ideas of Tainan community to start up a course which could inspire adult learners’ civil awareness, the teachers could use English movies as the teaching multi-media to build up the learning atmosphere which could benefit adult learners to learn English as well as to know civil issues. Also, the teachers could use the teaching method of cooperative learning. By executing the civil-issues- related English learning cooperative activities, the teachers could prompt the adult learners to have positive dependence and deep discussion toward civil issues, which would help adult learners’ English learning but also assist them to possess different civil thoughts.
