麻將遊戲規則應用於英文拼字學習之設計理念和初步研究

摘要


英文在現今已經變得越來越重要,人們縱使知道但他們常常沒有好的方法來有效率地學習它。更糟的是,有些人認為英文是無聊的。因此,要如何提升他們學習英文的興趣? 基於遊戲式學習是一種有趣的方式,而且很多其相關的研究實驗都已經被證實出。但本研究應該選擇哪種類型的遊戲呢? 網路上有太多學習英文的遊戲,例如 Scrabble 它是一款英文拼字遊戲。最後此研究挑選了麻將,它是一個中國非常有名的遊戲。因為麻將是一種大規模且多變化的紙牌遊戲,然而該研究並非僅是把麻將從中文改成英文而已。而是結合英文拼字,可是遊戲規則仍然跟麻將有關。此系統不只單單設計來玩,還能夠檢驗使用者學到的英文單字量。最重要地,它讓使用者沉浸於學習英文。順帶一提,使用者只需準備電腦或手機裝置且可以上網,並再找其他三個人就可開始遊戲。假如老師想要學生學習英文單字,則他們僅需要一起玩該款遊戲。老師操作伺服端來觀看遊戲的過程,如此一來便能了解學生的能力。相對地,學生就藉由用戶端在遊戲中學英文單字。

Today, English has become more and more important. People know it but they often have no good ways to learn English efficiently. Worst of all, some people think that English is boring. Therefore, how to promote their interests in English learning? Game base learning is a funny method, and many researches and experiments about it had also been proved. However, we have to choose which style of the game? There are lots of English learning games on the network. For example, Scrabble is one of them and so on. Finally, we select Mahjong which is a very famous Chinese game from China. Due to the fact that it is a large-scale and mutative card game. However, we do not just change Chinese to English in Mahjong. Although we combine English spelling, the game rule is still related to Mahjong. This system is not only designed to play, but also examine the amounts of English words which user learned. Most of all, we get users to enjoy learning English. By the way, users only need to prepare a computer or mobile device which can connect to the local area network or the internet. Besides, the user must find the other three people so that they can begin the game. If teachers want students to learn English words, they just need to play this game together. The teacher operates the server to watch the process of the game so that he or she can realize students’ ability. Relatively, students use the clients to learn English words in the game.
