摘要

本研究分析蔗糖產業在中美洲國家的出口績效。糖業是中美洲地區提供就業和賺取外匯非常重要的來源，蔗糖出口排名居所有品項的第6名。本研究使用次級資料和初級資料，應用四個子構面來衡量及分析出口績效。四個子構面分別為：出口銷售額、出口利潤、銷售額的變動情形和利潤的變動情形。本研究使用了所有與中美洲製糖業有關的次級資料。本地區在1993/94-2007/08生產年期間的平均出口比率是生產總額的56%。此地區的糖出口目標市場涵蓋世界各地。調查結果同時顯示瓜地馬拉蔗糖的出口比例很高，顯示其對出口的依存度高。

This study examines the export performance of the sugar industry in Central America. This industry is an important source of employment and foreign exchange for the region. The sugar export rank is top six in the region. The research use secondary and primary data to study the export performance, which is measured by four subdimensions. They are export sales, export profit, change in sales, and change in profit. As a secondary data it was used any relevant material related to the industry in the region. The export ratio for the region in the period from the production year of 1993/94-2007/08 is on average 56% of the total sugar produced. The market destination of the sugar exported from the region covers all the regions of the world. The survey result also confirms a high level of export involvement, which is measured by the ratio of export volume to production, in Guatemala.
