The Production Reminding System-A case study of Coil Production

In this study, we developed a Web-based job reminding system that can reduce errors caused by forgetfulness in certain complicated or less frequently performed jobs, such as routine maintenance and emergency repairs of a faulty machine. Regarding multiple workers and machine jobs, this system can remind more than one person of their jobs simultaneously; hence reducing the possibility of errors due to forgetfulness, thereby enhancing job efficiency. Once the workflow and standard working hours are inputted, the system enables workers to finish their jobs on schedule by reminding them and following up, shortening the working time effectively and completing the jobs on time. Since the actual start time and completion time of each job are reported, the production schedule can be controlled by readjusting the estimated completion time in the event of delay or early completion. This study features this information system that can provide reminders in order to reduce man-made errors effectively and improve work efficiency by directing multiple workers to carry out their works concurrently. Additionally, the control of production schedule and the prevention of work-to-rule are enabled by the establishment of standard working hours.
