The contents of the abstract The purpose of this thesis is to find out which species of driftwood have better properties when being precessed, to promote the multifarious use of driftwood, to create multicultural products, and to understand the significant differences in preferences for the texture and style of driftwood between craftsmen and collectors. Through questionnaires and interviews, it was revealed that the Chamaecyparis formosensis Matsum, Zelkova serrate（thumb）Makino, Libocedrus formosana Florin, and Michelia formosana Masam are more suitable for processing. These Driftwoods are also suitable for home furnishings, flowerpots, interior design, public buildings, and cultural and creative crafts. According to cross-tabulation data, craftsmen and collectors have different views.However, there is no significant difference in the preference for the style of driftwood.
