摘要

自從多溴聯苯醚(Polybrominated diphenyl ethers, PBDEs)陸續被各個國家禁用後,NBFRs(Novel brominated flame retardants)及DP(Dechlorane Plus)等新型阻燃劑便作為其替代品引入市場。

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) have been banned in various countries due to their toxicity and adverse health effects, thus, the use of alternatives such as new flame retardants which include NBFRs (Novel brominated flame retardants) and DP (Dechlorane Plus) have been introduced into the market and has been increasingly used ever since. Due to their similarities with PBDEs, NBFRs and DPs may also pose the same environmental pollution and human health risks. Food intake is one of the main exposure pathways in humans to the alternative fire retardants. However, there is a lack of study regarding the NBFR and DP levels in food in Taiwan which also mirrors the lack of standard analytical methods that can be used for their detection in various food samples. Our study aims to determine an efficient method for the detection of NBFR and DP in meat samples by performing two available extraction methods: Soxhlet extraction and QuEChERS extraction, and afterwards subjecting the extracts for analysis using the gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and comparing the results to determine which one is better. No NBFR and DP levels were detected in the meat samples upon comparison of the chromatograms with the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) database, except for the different fatty acids while for samples containing internal standards, peak levels of NBFR and DP were observed. The results confirmed that the sample matrix of the QuEChERS extraction method after extraction did not interfere with the analysis. Overall, although NBFR and DP were not detected in the meat samples bought from the Taiwanese market, the analytical standards for six target compounds which include BEHTBP, BTBPE, DBDPE, EHTBB, syn-DP and anti-DP were detected, respectively. Therefore, the QuEChERS method may be a potential extraction method for the determination of NBFRs and DP in food samples. Further studies are suggested to determine the efficiency of Quechers.
