台灣的自行車產業累積有40年以上的OEM經驗,使台灣成為世界中高級車的主要供應地之一。台灣自行車出口平均單價從2003年的150美元提升至2014年的459美元,十年間成長了3倍以上。台灣自行車產業已成為國際競爭力強勁的亮點產業。電動輔助自行車是自行車產業的新興產業。美國位居台灣出口自行車的主要國家中的第一位,雖然美國的電動輔助自行車市場不如歐洲,但近年來卻有快速成長的趨勢。若能擴展美國市場的需求勢必為台灣電動輔助自行車產業帶來新商機。 本研究除了以文獻整理、分析美國電動輔助自行車市場的現況與趨勢之外,為更加掌握產業界動向,也訪談業界人士,並利用線上問卷調查美國消費者對電動輔助自行車相關的實際需求。期望透過本研究能有助於台灣自行車企業在美國市場的發展。
Taiwan bicycle industry has accumulated more than 40 years of OEM experience making Taiwan one of the major high-end bicycle suppliers among the world. The average unit price of Taiwan's bicycle export has increased from US$ 150 in 2003 to US$ 459 in 2014; grown more than three times within a decade. Taiwan's bicycle industry has become a highlight in international competitiveness. Furthermore, electric-assisted bicycles business is emerging in bicycle industry. Although Europe has been the main market for electric-assisted bicycles, the United States market also has a trend of rapid growth in recent years. While the U.S. has ranked the top among Taiwan’s main bicycles exporting countries, expending the needs in U.S. market should also bring new business opportunity for electric-assisted bicycle industry in Taiwan. In addition to literature review to analyze current status and trends of the U.S. electric-assisted bicycle market, interviews with industry professionals and online marketing survey have also been conducted to assess actual demands of electric-assisted bicycle for the U.S. consumers for better grasp on industry trends. This will allow contribution to the development of Taiwan's bicycle business in the US market through research.
