鑒於舊有的無線區域網路通訊協定標準,如1997年提出的802.11a以及802.11b標準、2003年提出的802.11g標準、2009年提出的802.11n標準等,其定義的頻寬較窄,傳輸速率比較慢,無法滿足當前多媒體應用以及雲端技術所需之大量數據傳輸需求。2008年年底,國際IEEE802標準組織成立新小組,提出新的無線網路標準802.11ac,以更快的無線傳輸速率與更大的傳輸頻寬,讓無線網路能提供相當於有線網路的傳輸速率,以取代先前最快的無線區域網路標準802.11n。為符合802.11ac通訊協定所需之高速率,系統射頻前端模組中之功率放大器亦須具備更佳之線性度,以達到更高之特性需求。本論文即係針對全新設計之802.11ac功率放大器,建立量測系統所需之技術,進行開發,以及對開發之功率放大器進行特性之評估。
Due to the limited bandwidth and low data rate of current WiFi protocol, such 802.11 a, b, g and n, which is no longer satisfying the vase data that are required by the multimedia applications and cloud technology, a new protocol of 802.11ac was proposed and became a widely accepted protocol for WiFi in various communication systems. Since 802.11ac provides an almost comparable data rate as wired network, the RF power amplifier (PA) must have higher power output and better linearity. This paper is focused on developing required testing technology for measuring the performance of a newly designed PA for 802.11ac system. The main task includes design of evaluation circuit board and the measurement of S-parameters and EVM, etc.
