摘 要 在大多數產品上都有美工溝的設計,美工溝原則上是為了零件製作模具時,模具分模面處所製作的一種效果,目的是要使兩零件在配合時美化接合處的做法,然而美工溝的加入,可能會賦予產品不同的意象其意象應納入產品設計時之考量,因此本研究之目的即在探討美工溝構成要素對產品意象之影響。 本研究選擇四種不同身份的受測者:一般消費者、產品設計師、機構工程師與模具工程師進行問卷調查,以了解其對美工溝要素與設計之意見。 接著並使用兩種不同的產品,繪製出粗細不同的美工溝設計進行問卷調查,以了解其對於之美觀性、舒適性與質感之影響。第三階段篩選形容美工溝意象形容詞;在第四階段上,以 3D 圖檔模型配合意象形容詞進行實驗,再以 Durbin-test 將資料進行分析;所得結果顯示美工溝之寬窄、深淺確實會影響整體產品之意象,一般而言,較細的美工溝在產品的美觀性、舒適性與質感上有較高的評價,研究所得美工溝尺寸與意象形容詞之配對,可應用於美工溝設計,並協助設計者建立美工溝設計原則。 關鍵字:美工溝 Gap, 意象 Images, 模具 Tooling.
Abstract On most products, there are designs of gaps. In principle, gaps are an effect produced at the parting surface of tooling when making tooling for components, and the purpose of which is to beautify the junction between two components. The addition of gaps may bring different images to the products, thus should be considered during product design. Therefore, this study aims to discuss the influences of the constituent factors of gaps on product images. This study selected four types of test subjects for questionnaire survey, which are general consumers, product designers, mechanical engineers, and mold engineers, in order to find out about their opinions on the factors of gaps and related designs. Two products with 3 different widths of gaps were used as samples in the questionnaire survey in order to find out about their influences on respondents’ perceived appearance, comfort, and quality of the products. In the third stage, adjectives that are used to describe the images of gaps were screened. In the fourth stage, 25 participants were ask to match two hundred 3D simulated models with various gaps that with 20 image adjectives. The results were analyzed with Durbin-test. The results indicate that the widths and depths of gaps would affect the product image. In general, thinner gaps receive a higher evaluation on the appearance, comfort and quality. The matching of the sizes of gaps and image adjectives in this study can be applied to the design of gaps and help designers to establish design rules for gaps. Keywords: Gaps, Image, Tooling
