由於有線電視網路快速發展,加上持續增加的用戶數,為了能滿足大量網路頻寬需求以及提供穩定的網路服務,使得硬體設備之規格與技術,也不斷地加強與提升,在DOCSIS 3.0的標準中,除了延續舊有規範之網路應用之外,再加以新的Channel Bonding技術,大幅提升了可用之網路頻寬,也因此增加了網路的傳輸速度。 為了能分析與研究其網路之效能,首先針對使用標準及架構做探討,檢視CMTS和纜線數據機的應用,接著對網路效能與實驗用之參數,做進一步的分析,再從架構之環境中,經由實驗得到所要的效能數據,並以此數據來研究設定參數對於網路效能之影響。
Due to the development of the Cable TV network and rapid growth of the number of users, the technology and supporting hardware are developed continuously to meet the need of large network bandwidth requirements. The newly developed technology can also provide a stable network service. The DOCSIS 3.0 standard is the latest specification for Cable Network which includes the channel bonding technique to increase the available bandwidth in at least 4 fold as compare to earlier standards in the downstream channel. In order to analyze and study the performance of the DOCSIS 3.0 network, we will first examine the standard and structure. We will also discuss the CMTS and the applications of cable modem. Then, we will further analyze of the network performance and experiment with parameters to setup the cable modem. We gather the performance data from the experimental setup, and study the parameters that will influence the network performance.
