從事印刷設計專業能力培養之研究

本研究主要探討從設計到出印刷版印刷，此一製程中許多需要不同專業能力之處，設計人員、印刷前置作業人員及學生對於印刷作業的了解分屬不同做法；從製作稿件到傳統打樣或數位打樣到出CTP印刷版，數位化的出版機是利用落大版的軟體去運算，但電腦容易受到過多檔案需要一一運算的小物件，發生無法運算的錯誤及其他問題，因此從設計到出印刷版的過程就必須熟悉此一工作環節。學校教育養成的印刷相關課程屬於早期傳統手工完稿能力，缺少數位化後的製作教學，也少有實際相關經驗導致衍生不少問題。針對設計院校之印刷相關專業課程與職場的連接，與印刷從業人員作相關性訪談找出所需要的專業能力，本研究擬定達成之研究目的：（一）探討傳統印前技術與數位化印前技術製作方式差異，（二）現今印刷設計從業人員專業能力需求，（三）現今印刷課程之規劃。透過研究結論如下：（一）傳統印前技術均屬於手工拼貼完稿落版完成網片，利用傳統網片晒版機晒版成印刷版，數位化印前技術屬於全電腦化數位化製作，輸出印刷版的方式是直接透過電腦傳輸資訊給出版機直接輸出CTP版。（二）透過研究得知印刷設計從業人員能力需求部分主要須熟悉基本繪圖軟體介面需求，及基本印刷相關知識認知。（三）針對印刷相關課程部分需加入數位化印刷檔案的製作方式及相關數位化新知。

This study focus on the process from designing until printing plate is produced. Many different professional skills are needed among the above process. Designer, pre-printing operator and students all have their specific understanding in printing, which leads to many methods. In digital era, it doesn’t matter if you are doing traditional method or move the work flow entirely on the computers, the digitised publishing machine relies on super sized software. The sheer number of files and assets that the printing software needs to handle, can easily leads to un-calculated error and other related problems. All those requires the worker in charge of process from designing until printing plate needs to be utterly familiar with all the different work flows. The designing school does have printing related courses, but after talks with printing related workers, it appears the school’s courses, among with transition to the actual work force, does present a gap. Most school’s courses are focusing on traditional hand draft abilities, however it’s mainly done on digitised platform in modern printing process. There is rarely any course on digitised printing workflow, even less on discussing the problems that can occur during the transition. The three goals that this study is aiming to discuss are : 1) The methods and their differences between traditional pre-printing technology and digitised pre-printing workflow. 2) The skill requirements for today’s professional printing operator. 3) The planning of modern design courses. The study shows that : 1) Traditional pre-printing are done by hand draft the layout, and use Screen - plate copying machine to produce the printing plate. The digitised pre-printing are all done between several different softwares, the end result file then transfer to publishing computer for CTP plate output. 2) Modern professional pre-printing operator requires to be familiar with several basic printing related softwares and their interfaces, plus the understanding of the basic printing related knowledge. 3) The school can appendix the printing related courses with introduction of the digitised printing files and related new knowledge.
