This paper study the development of convertible bonds in Taiwan. The first convertible bond was issued in 1989, and the government revised the law progressively. We investigate how the revised law to affect the convertible bonds in Taiwan. We review the literatures about the corporate financial policy, the motivation of issuing convertible bonds and the pricing of convertible bonds. We find that the issuing companies are big sizes and the majority of them belong to the electronic industry. Finally, investing convertible bonds need to consider the corporate government and earnings management of the issuing companies.
