本研究旨在探討男同志步入異性戀婚姻且孕育出下一代之後,同志父親究竟如何扮演父親的角色,主要目的有:(一)瞭解同志父親的父職參與意願、實際參與的行為、參與後的感受,以及親子互動之情形;(二)探討同志父親的個人背景因素,與父職參與意願、父職參與行為、父職參與感受之關係;(三)探討同志父親的個人特質因素,與父職參與的意願、父職參與行為、父職參與感受之關係。 本論文以「質性為主,量化為輔」之研究取向,對六位已經或曾經結婚且育有一名子女的男同志進行深度訪談,以故事方式呈現他們的生命經驗,並結合問卷調查所回收52 份之有效問卷資料,進行綜合分析討論。研究結果呈現出同志父親的父職參與意願、行為、感受,以及親子互動之樣貌,並且發現: 一、同志父親對配偶現身與否,不會影響其父職參與。 二、同志父親身兼工作者與照顧者的角色。 三、同志父親對妻子和同志伴侶參與親職的角色期望與實踐有所不同。 四、大部分的同志父親,能夠接受自己的孩子選擇不同的性取向。 五、對於父親同志的身份,親子間存在著一種不說破的默契。 六、影響同志父親的父職參與之因素,包含父親個人因素、另一半(妻子及同志伴侶),以及文化因素。 最後,研究者說明本研究的研究限制,並根據研究結果提出建議給予同志父親、相關機構及實務工作者之參考,並提供未來研究可進行之方向。
This study is for the purpose of researching how does homosexual male play a role as a father figure in heterosexual marriage after breeding the next generation. The main objects are: (1) Understanding the willingness of those participated their role as fathers, the actual participating actions, the perceptions after participating in the father duty, and the parent-child interaction between gay fathers and their children. (2) Discussing the interrelationship between fathers’ personal background factor and the will of participation as fathers, the actual participating actions, and the perception after participating as father role. (3) Discussing the interrelationship between fathers’ Individual characteristic factor and the will of participation as fathers, the actual participating action, and the perception after participating as father role. This study, which is based on quality over quantity, has held in-depth interviews with six gay males who are married or was married with children. Their life experiences are presented in stories, integrated with fifty-two effective questionnaire surveys, and synthetically analyzed and discussed. The research result shows the form of the willingness to participate their roles as gay fathers, the actual participating actions, the perceptions after participating in the ather duty, and the parent-child interaction between gay fathers and their children. It also discovers: 1. Gay father’s parenthood participation is not effected by the spouse’s presence or absence. 2. The character of gay father as a worker and a caretaker. 3. Gay father’s expectation on spouse or gay partner’s participations are ASIA UNIVERSITY different from the actual fulfillment. 4. Most gay fathers are willing to accept their children’s alternative sexual orientation. 5. There’s an unspoken understanding and consensus about the father being gay in between the father and the children. 6. Father’s personal factor, wife and gay partner’s influential factor, and cultural factor are the factors that would effect a gay father’s participation in parenthood. Finally, the researcher declares this study’s limitation, gives suggestions to gay fathers, related organizations, and practical workers based on the study result, and also indicates the directions of future studies.
