Oral Maxillofacial Srgery, Taiwan Osteochondroma consists bone and cartilage components and it rarely affects the facial skeleton. In the facial skeleton, the mandibular condylar process is the most frequently affected site. The main symptoms of osteochondroma of the mandibular condyle are facial asymmetry, disturbed occlusion, painful mastication and impaired hearing on the affected side. A case massive osteochondroma of the mandibular condyle is presented who showed facial asmmetry malocclogical and impairment of mastication. The diagnosis was confirmed by radiological and histologic examinartion. The pafiut received condylectomy for resection of the enlarged condylar head, genioplasty for correction of the facial asymmetry and postoperative occlusal reconturtion for correction of the malocclusion. In addition, the patient refused to undergo any surgery on the maxilla. The results obatined was well accepted by the patient.
