摘要

統計台中榮民總醫院1987-1991年五年中，因顏面骨折住院病患共245人。患者的年齡層主要21-30歲(32％)及11-20歲(26％)。平均年齡31歲，男女比爲2.7:1。骨折原因以交通意外85.4％最多，而以機車事故74.4％最高。顏面中部骨折以颧骨骨折最多，而下頜骨骨折以中央部骨折最多。國内因交通意外造成顏面骨折所佔比例較國外高出數倍。

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prevalence and possible etiologies of facial bone fracture in patients of Taichung VGH from 1987 to 1991.
A total of 245 patients with facial bone fracture were studied. The average age of the patients was 31 y/o. The mainly affected groups distributed in the 2nd (26%) and 3rd decades (32%). Male to female ratio was approximately 2.7 to 1. Malar bone and symphysis were the most common affected sites in midface and mandibular bone fractures. Traffic accidents seemed to be the major etiology of facial bone fractures (85.4%), and 74.4% of the patients were hurt at a motorcycle accident.
