Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of Sjögren's syndrome: A Case Report

摘要

修格蘭氏症候群（Sjögren's syndrome）是一種慢性自體免疫疾病，主要侵犯於淚腺及唾液腺為主。本例病案報告一50歲婦女因診斷乾燥症候群已近9年，眼乾舌燥反覆，期間嘗試西藥仍未明顯改善，透過中醫藥治療後成功改善口乾眼乾及生活品質，希望可作為臨床醫師欲改善乾燥症患者口乾眼乾不適症狀的另類治療選擇。

Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is a chronic autoimmune disease that mainly affects the lacrimal and salivary glands. This paper describes a treatment for a 50-year-old woman suffering from dry eyes (keratoconjunctivitis sicca), dry mouth (xerostomia), for 9 years. After western medicine (Evoxac) treatment of dry mouth, the situation has not significantly improved. The patient seeks Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatment to control symptoms and improve her quality of life. This report aims to provide an effective clinical case for the treatment of SS in Chinese medicine practitioners.
