Empathy is an important communication skill for teachers to develop. Empathic teachers could meet the academic and social emotional needs of students. But not many teachers had been trained. Students could be benefited when teachers communicated with empathic way, the relationship between teachers and students could be improved, the positive and supportive classroom environment could be built. This paper presents the meanings of empathy and education implications, as well as the empathy training program used in the department of Early Childhood Education University of Taipei.
