Despite being rare, pulmonary manifestations are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in childhood rheumatic diseases. However, recognizing pulmonary complications of rheumatic disorders in children is often difficult. In this study, we review the significant pulmonary complications including childhood systemic lupus erythematosus, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, Henoch-Schönlein purpura, Behcet's disease, juvenile scleroderma and juvenile dermatomyositis, and also their incidence in Taiwan.
