Early creation of arteriovenous (AV) access is an important issue with the increasing prevalence of end stage renal disease (ESRD). The main causes for the AV access dysfunction are stenosis and thrombosis. To maintain longterm access function, timely diagnosis and treatment of access-related complications are pivotal. Minimally invasive endovascular intervention is techniques of growing importance and gradually replaces the role of surgery. We review the endovascular intervention for the dysfunctional AV access in this article.
