For elder patients on dialysis, it is rather important to live an acceptable quality and dignity of life than to extend lifespan under torture. Therefore, withdrawal of dialysis is a critical issue in elderly patients' healthcare. Palliative care for patients on dialysis is still at the beginning stage even in developed countries. Most of the decisions were made by physicians; only very few of them were made through share decision making. The hospice team for patients on dialysis must include nephrologists, the patient's family physician, dialysis nurses, and hospice specialists, hoping to alleviate the patient's symptoms and discomfort through share decision making and advance care planning.
