由高齡者居家生活探討產品介面設計－以微波爐操作為例

Basic Research for Product Interface Design from the Perspective of the Elderly Daily Life-Take Operating Microwave Oven for Example

摘要

在社會、經濟、人口結構的轉變下，高齡者的日常生活由子女照顧逐漸變為獨自在家的情形漸增，且因機能退化所帶來的不便，更反應在居家的活動中；生活產品漸趨向電子數位化，對高齡者而言，在習慣、認知、學習上造成一定程度的困擾。經由基礎訪查得知，高齡者使用電器產品最頻繁的則在臥室、廚房及家事的活動中；而不論是何種居住形式，飲食是每天都必須進行的活動，而微波爐的操作是讓高齡者最易感到困擾的。因此，本研究對高齡者操作微波爐的情形，作深入探討。調查結果顯示，高齡者在操作微波爐介面時，對文字讀取、圖像讀取、時間設定上會有一定程度的困擾。在文字與背景的圖地關係中，無彩色圖地以10-12級文字，彩色圖地則以12-14級，是為高齡者在讀取文字時最小接受字級範圍。在圖像傳達讀取部分，高齡者偏好寫實表示的圖示。時間設定測試部分，有約五成的高齡者對數字按鍵設定的方式較能理解；三成的高齡者對旋轉鈕的設定方式較理解。測試得知對面板的理解度，與生活方式、操作習慣、知識有關，甚至也會受到年齡與教育程度的影響。由調查結果得知，高齡者確實在介面操作上，會受到生理機能退化的影響。

With the changing of society, economic and population structure, the elderly daily life has from been tending by children, turn to be home alone increasingly. And the degradation of physical condition with the aging makes the daily activity more difficult. Relying on the progressing of technology, the product has getting electronically and digitalized, there are certain difficulty for the elderly. According to our pre-study, we could realize the most recently used electrical products of the elderly while they were in bedroom, kitchen and house keeping. Diet is a daily activity either the elderly is with the family or lives alone, and microwave oven is the most complicated one for using. Therefore, we progress a further research for the microwave oven operating condition of the elderly in this study. The result showed that the elderly have certain difficulty on words reading, icons reading and function communication when they using the microwave oven user interface. In the relationship between words and backgrounds, non-color background and 10-12 grade words are the minima of words reading for the elderly, and with the color background the words have to be 12-14 grade. The elderly prefer the icons display with objective way in the part of reading image communication. As to time setting test, around 50% elderly people could understand more easily with digital displaying, and 30% people prefer rotating knob. The testing result is influenced by the different user interfaces, life style, user custom and knowledge of the elderly. The age and education make their choice different as well. Based on investigating result, we could realize that the degradation of physical condition do influence a lot when the elderly operate the user interface.
