專業倫理教育的基本理念

Some Basic Concepts for Education of Professional Ethics

摘要


本文的主要目的,是要從社會心理學的角度,討論當前在台灣推動專業倫理教育的必要性,同時釐清與專業倫理教育有密切關聯的若干基本理念。作者首先以他在《知識與行動》一書中對中華文化傳統的分析為基礎,指出傳統儒家「庶人倫理」應用在現代社會中可能遭遇到的侷限,然後從倫理學的角度,指出:如何以具有普遍性的「仁道」,配合不同學科的專業知識,導衍出現代社會所須要的專業倫理,作為專業倫理教育的材料。致力於此種「創造性轉化」的工作,其目的是希望能夠將一些中華文化傳統中的符號、思想、價值、與行為模式加以改造與重組,使其變成有利於變革的種子,同時能夠在變革中保持文化的認同。

This article was aimed to advocate the necessity of promoting education of professional ethics, and to clarify several fundamental concepts which were supposed to be essential to the education of professional ethics. Based on his analysis of Chinese cultural heritage in the book ”Knowledge and Action”, the author first illustrated the limitations of applying Confucian ethics for ordinary people in contemporary society, then discussed how to derive code of ethics for professional education from an integration of the universal principle of Ren with specific knowledge of various disciplines in modern society. It is expected that this kind of ”creative transformation” can rearrange or reshape the core symbols, concepts, values, and behavioral patterns of Chinese culture heritage in such a way that it can facilitate the task of culture change and preserve the cultural identity in the process of change.
