As the manager of violence, the military is requested to follow some professional regulation. Consequently, the social recognition and behavior pattern of military personnel is relatively conservative compare to other social groups in general. General education in the Republic of China's military academies is also shaped in the same way. Basically, concepts of general education of the military academies are similar to the principles and goals upheld by civilian universities. In order to build up a positive value concept and role perception pattern for modern soldiers, how to conduct general education in the military academies effectively to meet the demands of a free, democratic, and open society deserve our special attention.
