通識教育教學理念與課程規劃方針-以元培科技學院核心通識課程為例

The Ideas and Course Arrangement of General Education-A case study of Core General Education on Yuanpei Institute of Science & Technology

摘要


通識教育的「通」,就是溝通、貫通、會通與互通之意,「識」則含有知識、見識、器識與洞識之意;換言之,所謂「通識教育」即以培有具備「融會貫通且具有整合性知識」之學生爲目的。更簡單地說,通識教育的教育目的的在於促進現代知識青年不但是一個自然人、科技人,更是一個社會人、文化人。 而針對技職體系與元培科學技術學院來說,通識教育的理念可以簡化爲下列三點: 1.通識教育就是全人教育,目的在於教導學生學習如何做人處事的道理。 2.就掛職教育體系而言,通識教育尤須強化人文社會方面之知識,教導學生如何去認清人與物的關的係、人與環境的關係、進而去調適人我關係、群已關係,俾能健全其人格發展。 3.就元培科技學院之學校特性而言,通識教育需要特別強化人文關懷與慈悲喜捨的精神。 基於此一構想,元培科技學院通識教育課程規劃之目的,在於養成學習者能以具備通識精神之專業教育,培育出富於人關懷之專業技能,俾「通識」與「專業」二者兼容並蓄,相得益彰。並據此制訂核心通識課程--「醫事倫理」與「專業倫理」。前者適用於帶有醫事類之科系(如:放射、護理、醫技、醫管與醫工);後者適用於其他非醫事類科系(如:環衛、食衛、餐管及資管)等是。

The meanings of General Education contain the concepts of penetrating, linking up and widening one’s knowledge, experience and judgments. In another words, the General Education, which is devised to foster the students enough to achieve mastery through and consistently a comprehensive study of the subject. In a nutshell, the General Education is to promote those modern young intellectuals, who is not only a natural and scientific-man, but also a social and cultural-man. With the particularity of technological and vocational system in Yuanpei Institute of Science & Technology, the General Education conception can be simplified as follows: First, the General Education is the teaching of comprehensive moral integrity, and its purpose is to educate students the principles of how to conduct one. Secondly, in the system of technological & Vocational education, the General Education must strengthen the knowledge of humanities and sociology, to teach the students how to recognize the between of human being and all thing on earth, human being and environment, and how to regulate the communication of interpersonal, mass and personal, and to perfect the personality development. Third, in connection with the particularity of Yuanpei Institute of Science & Technology, the General Education especially needs to enhance the spirits of sympathy, benevolence and forgiveness. Because of those conceptions, our purpose of General Education course plan is to foster the general spirit in professional education, to cultivate the abundant human sympathy in professional technical ability. Moreover, let the “General Education” and “Professional Education” run parallel and complements each other. So, on the basis of that conception, we formulate the courses as the “Medical Ethics” and “Professional Ethics”. The former applies to the medical skill department, such as Department of Radiological Technology, Medical Administration, Medical Technology, Nursing, and Biomedical Engineering. The latter applies to none-medical skill department, such as Environmental Engineering and Health, Food Health, Food & Beverage Management, and Information Management.
