The purpose of the present action research is to develop and evaluate a teaching plan. The plan features the usage of picture books to improve creative thinking skill with a group of third graders. The study also discusses the feasibility and possible value of such a plan. It produced three results. First, good learning environment and interaction between teacher and students contribute to student& learning. Secondly, students need to be specifically encouraged to develop creative thinking ability. Finally, teaching with picture books is an effective way to help the students who are less confident with art appreciation.
