摘要

一九五○年代以來，後現代社會的資訊化發展，將全球的生產與消費活動收斂在以城市為主軸的總架構之下。高雄得利於日治時期的基礎，追隨新國際勞動分工的潮流，獲得三、四十年的經濟發展，尤其以製造業為代表產業。八○年代中期以來，全球政經結構再一次重構，高雄的產業也在1997年的東南亞金融風暴中受到傷害。未來怎麼走？尤其地方自治的理念日漸落實的世紀末，高雄的製造業將往何處去？怎麼去？本文嘗試回答這個問題。

Postmodern society has been coming since 1950's. Global production and consumption activities are shrinking into city regions through improvement of information technology as well as transportational facilities. Kaohsiung metropolitan area's manufacturing plants are prosperous by Japanese Colonial Government and ROC Government's economic development policy in the past 100 years. Since mid 1980's, global economy has been under restructuring again, and 1997 South-East Asia financial crisis has damaging Kaohsiung's manufacturing activities. What is the best developing strategy? Where is the manufacturer going to? This paper tries to provide answers to these questions.
