Neuroblastoma is a relatively common malignancy of childhood. It may occur in any tissue of neural crest origin, commonly in the sympathetic chain of abdomen, thorax or in adrenal gland, but very few are of cervical origin. Upper airway obstruction and feeding difficulty are the major clinical manifestations in such cervical cases. We presented a case of primary retropharyngeal neuroblastoma. Noisy breathing, dyspnea and choking on feeding were noted soon after birth. Localized in a favorable primary site, such a congenital neurobalstoma of early stage can be successfully treated by surgical excision alone despite of the chemotherapy of radiotherapy.
